There is no base for this story other than for it to be a work of fiction out of my own head and heart. If for any reason that it resembles or seems to point to another incident or person that is purely by mistake. This story is of my own design and the characters that are in it are of my own making. They are mine and not for other use unless I have given permission. The content while not overly mature does carry in it some sensitive material that younger viewers might not need to read or understand. This is why I have placed the rating that I have on my story. Please enjoy.

The young woman sat there and thought about what she had learned from her father while she told the story to the woman in front of her.

When she had gotten sick and it required someone who was a genetic match and no one in her family qualified her father told her the story of the day she was born that no one but him and the doctors knew. Her mother God rest her soul had never known.

The story was a short and simple one and she understood why he would keep the secret and hope that it never came out but now here she was twenty-five years old and needed a blood relative so that she could survive and her father had to tell her.

When her mother was eight months pregnant she had been traveling with her husband in Ohio. There had been a car accident and the closest hospital was not one they would normally go to but the accident had caused her other to go into labor. There were many complications during labor that caused the child inside her mom to be still-born. Due to the injuries that her mother had and the problems of child-birth her mother had to be rushed into surgery.
While her mother was in the operating room her father watched a young girl and an older woman come in to the same ward of the hospital that he was in. The story that the young girls aunt had to tell was so shocking that her father could not help but be drawn in to it. He was so shocked that such a thing could happen.

The young woman was only thirteen. And she was heavily pregnant. She was covered in blood with many wounds. The aunt told the story and my father could not help but walk closer and listen to the tell and ask questions. No one had thought to tell him that it was a personal matter and to stay out of it. The young woman for she could not truly be called a girl after what she has gone through, had kept her pregnancy from everyone including the child's father by wearing big bulky clothing during the winter and keeping to her self. She was a very smart person apparently she was at the top of her school for grades and since she was a nerd most at the school did not pay attention to her. Her mother worked nights at a local bar so she hardly ever saw her daughter. The girl's mother still did not know about the situation and when the hospital learned exactly who the mother was agreed whole heartily to not tell her. My father never learned why the hospital staff was so scared of the girl's mother but did not ask.

When they got to why she was covered in blood it was where the story got horrifying to my father. The girl had kept it all hidden from her whole neighborhood for a reason. That day the father had found out that she was with child and had lost it. He did not want to be a father and had started to hit her. In protection of her self the girl had picked up her brothers baseball bat and hit him on the side of the head and knocked him out. Now that it was March the weather was warmer and she was so upset that she ran from the house with her jacket. And without her jacket there was not as much to hide the huge stomach that she had kept hidden up till then. Where she lived was a high gang activity area with many fights from rival gangs sneaking into the other areas to strike at their enemies. And she was well known to be one that was protected by the head of the gangs family for the area she lived in. Her aunt said that she believed that the father would of changed his mind about the baby and been happy when he thought about it. But a rival gang that had sneaked across the border saw her running and decided that she would be their target that day. So there was six gang members and they had grabbed her pulled her into a back yard and started to beat on her. When they noticed the swollen belly that she was cradling and protecting they started to focus their attacks there. From what the aunt knew that is when the leader had found her with the father of her child and a couple of others from the gang with him. The aunt said that she did not ask what happened to the ones that attacked her niece and that she did not want to know. The way that she put it was that somethings were better left unknown. They had brought the wounded pregnant girl to her aunts instead of her mothers because they knew that the aunt would bring her to the hospital where the mother would just either lock her out of the house or in her room with no medical attention.

And that lead to why she was here with her niece in such shape. The doctors said that they would do what they could and went into the room. The nurse came out a few moments later to tell the aunt that the girl was in labor. My father had been in so much shock that he followed the aunt into the room that where he for the first time got a good look at the young woman who had com in, they had cleaned all the blood off of her and he could see all the damage to her body from the bruises and cuts covering her. My father could not believe the beauty in this young girl even a damaged as she was. She looked so much like his wife when she was young it was shocking.

She was quiet even though he could tell from looking at her that she was in a fair amount of pain. When the doctors told her to push she pushed her labor was fast and easy. Within ten minuets a beautiful baby girl with dark hair and big expressive eyes was born. The baby girl let out a wail loud enough for the whole hospital to hear. My father was moved to tears as they laid the little girl in her mothers arms for her to see her. The smile on the mothers face was so beautiful he knew that she loved her child and she said one word "Angelica" then her eyes closed and she passed out. The monitors on her showed that she was just sleeping but the doctors were worried for all the damage done to her. The nurse removed the child from her arms and I guess they thought that my father was a member of the family because she laid the baby girl in his arms. At that moment the man fell in love with the baby and did not want to let her go.
Her aunt was having a discussion with the doctor. They did not know what to do because the aunt knew that as soon as her mother heard about the baby that the girl would most likely not have a home and there was no way to pay the hospital bills. And with all the violence in their neighborhood they were not sure if they would ever be safe. That is when my father got an ideal and spoke up hoping that they would agree to his crazy ideal.

He had offered to pay the hospital bills for the girl and offered a home for the baby. He explained to the aunt how his wife had just had a still birth boy and that she was in the operating room and did not know about it yet. It did not take much to convince the aunt to agree with it and the doctors agreed happily. My father said that he even heard one of the orderlies say anything to keep that woman from knowing anything and coming there. He guessed that the young woman's mother was not a nice person to have everyone afraid of her. The young woman was still asleep and they decided to not tell her what was going to happen. So it was that when the girl woke the told her that her baby boy was still-born and asked her if she wanted to see him.

My father said he almost decided against his decision when he saw her reaction and cradled the lifeless child to her chest in agony. When she looked to her aunt and asked what they would do the aunt sadly answered that they would tell her mother that she was here because of a gang attack and no one would mention the child. And when she became distraught at the thought of not having a place for her child to be put to rest my father stepped forward and offered to have the baby placed to rest in his families cemetery. And since it was truly his child he had planned that from the beginning.

So he asked her what name she wanted place on the head stone she told him David Michael. Since to be placed on the grounds the child needed to have the family name his last name was our family name. So it was put in the records from the doctors that we were born as twins and that one lived as one died. My mother had no argument at the name that my father chose for the still-born child or the little girl who laid in her arms. My father said that as far as his wife knew she had carried two children in her and the accident had claimed the life of one while the other was spared. While a very sad thirteen year old girl thought that she had lost the life that she had carried. My father said that there were two young men that came to her when it was time to leave the hospital with one literally bowing on the floor to plead for forgiveness. My father said that even though she could see the pain in her eyes he could tell that she would forgive him even before she allowed him to embrace her around the waist and they cried out their grief. My father then looked at his wife and saw how happy she was to be holding her daughter and knew that his decision was the right one. He knew that this little girl would receive all the love they could give her and that they could give her all the things she needed to grow and it would not be in the world that she would of been born in to. But the sight of their grief made him do something that he was glad that he did, he asked his wife if it would be alright to allow the young lady who had lost her child hold theirs and being the kind woman she was and knowing the pain of loosing a child she said ok.

My father said that when he walked out of the room with me in his arms that he was shaking in fear that the young girl could tell. When he placed the baby in her arms the tears stopped and for the time that she held the baby girl everything else disappeared. The love in her eyes for this child that she knew was not hers was amazing and when the young man who was knelt at her feet stood my father could see the amazement in his face. He told her that he will never again think that having a baby would be a bad thing. My father asked the nurse that took photos if she would take one of them like that secretly and she did. He wanted a picture of these two with their child for himself so he could always remember how lucky he was. And that is the picture that I am sitting here looking at. My birth mother had long chocolate hair that came past her knees, dark brown eyes, she stood only five foot and her chin rested right below the sandy blond-haired man standing next to her looking down at the baby in her arms with such love in their eyes. It made me happy knowing that I was loved by them so much that even though they did not know who I was they still let it show for a stranger's child.

My father said that when my mom was released from the hospital they returned to the estate where they raised me and my mother was never told that I was not her birth child, and that my father still does not want me to let it be known because I was the first-born to this generation and so I will inherit the lot of the fortune and that I was stronger and smarter than my other siblings. He said that he now believes as he did then that everything happens for a reason. And that my birth parents gave him the best gift in the world and he knows that I have my birth mothers smarts, heart and forgiveness. That he was and is sure of.

So that is my story and reason for finding you. I would understand if you were to send me away. But this is the photo that my father had taken. I was right and you are the girl in the photo? I asked the woman.

"Yes this is David and I". She said with tears in her eyes as she looked up at me. "I had always had a feeling that what the doctors said was not true, but I was thirteen and after a while it was like it was a dream. My aunt would never answer my questions she would just tell me that as far as it was concerned that nothing ever happened and said she will never talk about it again."

Thank you for your time and I hope that you have enjoyed what you have read.

This is a little story that has been hiding in my head for a long time.  There are many people out there that find their families in many different ways.  There is a chance of destiny of the way one is born on how their life will go.  So what would happen if you were told that your life was just a twist of fate?

A very interesting tale here, it's a tragic one that turns out though in the end. I really like the emotion displayed in this writing, and think it's wonderful work ^^
